Common questions
What is ORight?
ORight is a planning app for teens (13+) built around one habit: a daily "brain dump." You write (or dictate) everything on your mind about your day — homework, quizzes, stuff to bring, chores — and AI turns it into an organized task list you confirm and check off. Completing things earns XP, builds streaks, and unlocks rewards you set for yourself.
How does the brain dump work?
Tap Brain dump on the Home tab, write whatever's in your head (messy is fine — that's the point), and tap Send. You'll see the tasks the AI found; edit anything that's off, drop anything that isn't a task, and save. Prefer talking? Tap the microphone on your keyboard and dictate.
Why can I only brain dump once per hour?
By design — ORight works best as a once-a-day ritual, not a chat. The one-per-hour limit keeps it a habit rather than a chore. Your text is never lost: if a dump fails to send, it's saved and you can retry.
How do XP, levels, and streaks work?
You earn +5 XP for each brain dump and +10 XP for each task you complete. Dumping on consecutive days builds a streak, with a +25 bonus every 7th day. Levels rise with everything you've ever earned — spending XP on rewards never lowers your level.
What are rewards?
Rewards are treats you grant yourself by spending XP — a chill hour, a movie night, a splurge. No one approves them; the point is deciding what you've earned and actually taking it.
Does my parent see what I write?
No. ORight has no parent accounts, no parent dashboard, and no live sharing. During setup you can optionally add a parent's email for a planned summary-of-school-stuff email (not yet active) — that's a one-way summary feature, not access to the app or your writing. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is my brain dump private?
Yes. Only you can see it. To turn your text into tasks, it's processed by Anthropic's Claude AI, which doesn't train on your data. The full breakdown is in the Privacy Policy.
How do reminders work?
ORight+ includes three optional daily reminders — brain dump, homework window, and pack check — scheduled on your device. Turn them on and pick times in Settings. Reminders that would land in quiet hours (evening/overnight) are automatically muted.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings → Delete my account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your brain dumps, tasks, XP history, and account information within 30 days. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Is ORight a medical or therapy app?
No. ORight is a personal organization tool built with ADHD-friendly design in mind, but it does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical or psychological advice. If you're struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a healthcare professional.
What data does ORight collect?
See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
